Leadership Roles: Group Finance Director, Managing Director, NED, Executive Coach and Mentor
I am a member of the International Coaching Federation (ICF) and trained with Barefoot Coaching Ltd.
I mostly coach senior managers and executives including both Managing Directors and Finance Directors. Building a strong relationship is very important to the success of the coaching process.
I work on a wide range of areas as chosen by the coachee; often including individuals skills, mindset, outlook and approach to managing and leading others. Our partnership often creates noticeable improvements in performance and outcomes.
I have spent over 20 years managing teams and working with people to improve their skills and performance. I committed a significant amount of time mentoring (teaching) to improve the skills of the people within the teams in which I have worked. These teams achieved some fantastic results.
I have delivered over 3000 hours of Mentoring.
Wanting to further improve, I trained as a coach and very much advocate a coaching style of management to allow people to perform at their best while helping them to continue to develop
I have sat on the board of a number of companies, national and international with turnover ranging from £5m to £150m. For most of my career I have worked alongside colleagues from all functions within businesses – Sales & Marketing, Operations, Finance and HR. I have very broad business experience gained from working in corporates through to startups.
My preferred approach is to run businesses in a very open way and involve as many of the staff as possible in the running and success of the business. This significantly improves performance and makes the journey much more enjoyable.
I am a keen investor and entrepreneur.
FMCG, Food Retail, Recruitment, Construction, IT, Outsourcing, Professional Services.
Innocent Drinks, Fosters, Treasury Wine Estates, E&Y, PA Consulting, Petroplan, Williams Lea, A&O, Prostrate Cancer UK, and a number of SMEs
I focus on developing people working in businesses from start-ups to those with around £200m turnover, national or international
Away from the office, my family is a big focus and very important to me. I teach Karate (and have for over 15 years), play tennis, read business books & fiction and enjoy being active and outdoors.
I admire Warren Buffet. Why – because he is open, honest, trustworthy, self-depreciating and does not view himself as better than others despite amazing professional success. He has remained very true to himself/down to earth despite the temptations that come through wealth, power and fame.
